In this workshop we will explore and consider aspects of neuroscience and neurodiversity with relevance to counselling and psychotherapy through the lens of the race construct. Aspects will include developmental theories, impact of trauma, as well as issues around diagnosis and treatment, trust and understanding. There will be opportunities for small and large group discussion, and for reflections on the implications of the topic for your professional identity and clinical practice.
Bio:
Richard Kettley is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer, and has
worked for charities, schools and universities as well as in private practice. He previously worked
in a variety of roles in educational settings in England, Scotland and Japan. He loves arts and
culture, particularly music, poetry and drama, and currently lives in Edinburgh.
Cancellations:
In the event of cancellation of a webinar by the facilitators, we will endeavour to inform all participants at least two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. In such an event, all course fees paid will be reimbursed in full. In the event that dates have to be changed by the facilitators, participants may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient. Webinar spaces are limited so refunds will only be made if a written notification is received more than four weeks before the workshop date. Send written notification of cancellation via email to admin@kaemotherapy.com. For bookings cancelled four weeks or less before the event, no refund will be made other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the webinar facilitators. No refund will be made for non-attendance.
